Silver Lining

A collection of images and mineral specimens harkening back to hikes I took with my dad in the 1960's-70's. The oil painted images on treated paper are from photographs, mounted onto paper with the location/date noted on the back. They are housed in a paper wrapper. The specimens, gathered during those hikes, each rest in a round, leather covered box with removable lid. The lower right box holds an accordion folded book with these words: "I remember a lyric - when my father died, it was like an entire librar had burned down . . . to the ground." The custom drop-spine box has two compartments - the one on the left holds the mineral specimens and paintings. The one on the right holds a test tube containing potassium permanganate, labeled on the outside in my father's hand.
